public interface InternalOperationService
extends OperationService

This is the interface that needs to be implemented by actual InternalOperationService. Currently there is a single InternalOperationService: OperationServiceImpl, but in the future others can be added.

It exposes methods that will not be called by regular code, like shutdown, but will only be called by the the SPI management.

Should be called when an asynchronous operations not running on a operation thread is running. Primary purpose is to provide heartbeats

Should be called when the asynchronous operation has completed.

isCallTimedOut

boolean isCallTimedOut(Operation op)

Checks if this call is timed out. A timed out call is not going to be executed.

Parameters:

op - the operation to check.

Returns:

true if it is timed out, false otherwise.

isRunAllowed

boolean isRunAllowed(Operation op)

Returns true if the given operation is allowed to run on the calling thread, false otherwise. If this method returns true, then the operation can be executed using OperationService.run(Operation) method, otherwise OperationService.execute(Operation) should be used.

Parameters:

op - the operation to check.

Returns:

true if the operation is allowed to run on the calling thread, false otherwise.

execute

void execute(PartitionSpecificRunnable task)

Executes a PartitionSpecificRunnable.

This method is typically used by the ClientEngine when it has received a Packet containing a request that needs to be processed.

Parameters:

task - the task to execute

executeOnPartitions

void executeOnPartitions(PartitionTaskFactory taskFactory,
                         BitSet partitions)

Executes for each of the partitions, a task created by the taskFactory. For more info see the OperationExecutor.executeOnPartitions(PartitionTaskFactory, BitSet)

Parameters:

taskFactory - the PartitionTaskFactory used to create operations.

partitions - the partitions to execute an operation on.

Throws:

NullPointerException - if taskFactory or partitions is null.

getSlowOperationDTOs

List<SlowOperationDTO> getSlowOperationDTOs()

Returns information about long running operations.

Returns:

list of SlowOperationDTO instances.
