public interface MigratableHandler

A nio event handler that supports migration between NioThread instances. This API is called by the IOBalancer.

void	requestMigration(NioThread newOwner) Requests the MigratableHandler to move to the new NioThread.

Method Detail

requestMigration

void requestMigration(NioThread newOwner)

Requests the MigratableHandler to move to the new NioThread. This call will not wait for the migration to complete. This method can be called by any thread, and will probably be called by the IOBalancer. Call is ignored when handler is moving to the same NioThread.

Parameters:

newOwner - the NioThread that is going to own this MigratableHandler

getOwner

NioThread getOwner()

Get NioThread currently owning this handler. Handler owner is a thread running this handler. IOBalancer can decide to migrate a handler to another owner.

Returns:

current owner

getLoad

long getLoad()

Get 'load' recorded by the current handler. It can be used to calculate whether this handler should be migrated to a different NioThread

Returns:

total load recorded by this handler
